Whats the easiest way to clean a rug that wont fit in the washing machine?

I find it funny that you probably tried fitting it in the washing machine... drycleaners usually work!!! Dee De Dee...Whats the easiest way to clean a rug that wont fit in the washing machine?
if you have a steam wallpaper stripper you can use that along with the spray carpet cleaner,spray carpet then use the steam to penetrate the carpet and gently scrub, i do my rug this way and it looks like new everytime plus it dont take long to dryWhats the easiest way to clean a rug that wont fit in the washing machine?

Just dry it under the sun. Hit it to remove the dust.


Any stains on it, just use the carpet cleaner.
go to a laundry mat and use a larger washing machine that can accommodate the size of rug....i do that every so often with bedding such as large comforters too...
you can wash it in the bath, that's what I did. Or just take it to a drycleaners.
take it the local laundrette they always have big machines in there you can even get a king size quilt in some of them so a mats going to fit
Buy some foaming carpet cleaner.(in a can), spray the rug, go over it with a damp mop, let it dry then vacuum...
I swear by 1001, it's brill' though you have to do it by hand!
Carpet shampoo, I think you apply it then let it dry and then vacume it up.
